plastic connector where the hall effect sensor goes into the dist. Thats where the wires short. About 2.50 from the dealer for the connector.

volvos also.
This is truly a unique board. I’ve asked questions about my Volvo on Volvo boards and on this board. I received the correct answer from the posters on this board. I don’t know if you all remember, but my Volvo was having an occasional loss of power on hard right turns. Restarting the car would return all to normal, very unusual!

Anyway, you guys pointed me towards the hal sensor on the distributor and the one post on the Volvo board pointed me to the fuel pump in the gas tank. I listened to you guys and swapped the distributor with a spare one I had, and low and behold, no more problem. Thanks for the wonderful Christmas present of not having to trash my winter driver. And, thanks to that, I now have my 535 in the air with the front end soaking in WD40. I’m lowering and installing Bilsteins, plus replacing thrust and control arms.

Bimmers are such cool toys, I think they are great, and I think the drivers who share their experiences and knowledge on this board are great also. I may detail my experiences with my suspension upgrade for all on a website somewhere.

Merry Christmas to all and a happy new year. You all are the greatest.

I have really enjoyed the board this year and the color that comes with it. You guys have been a wonderful source of humor and engineering talent. From my family to yours, Merry Christmas!!
