It's been almost one year since I received my '92 535i. It came to me in January with gold BBS wheels and non-ellipsoid headlights, but only 59,000 miles. After a week of changing things around I took it Atlanta to school, right in the middle of an ice storm. No electricity and icy roads greeted me back to Oglethopre University, but the car performed excellently. Throughout the year the new five and I had many great experiences. In March I took the GS class at a local autocross, and beat my "arch-rival" Tracy Bigalow and his '98 528i sport. That same month brought Spring break and the Athens-to-Atlanta-to-St. Augustine-to-Gainesville-to-Sarasota-to-Atlanta-to-Athens trip. Much fun was had. In May after four very short years I graduated and my 535 hauled eight months of accumulated junk back home with very little trouble (still haven't picked up my old Schwinn from school, that was the only thing that wouldn't fit). Over the summer the car was relegated to carrying me back and forth from work, but the occaisional Sunday autcross was thrown in. In September I had another road trip: this time from Athens-to-Atlanta-to-DeLand-to-Athens-to-Atlanta-to-Athens in the span of three days (a side trip to Orlando was also in there). October brought my first ever O'fest, along with three trips to Greenville (couldn't miss too many classes). Finished a scant few hundredths of a second from getting a trophy in the autocross, and along with my navigator David Harrison I did pretty well in my first ever TSD rally. Can't wait till New Hampshire next year. Finally, as winter set in, my poor 535i has once again settled on carrying my sorry butt back and froth from work, but it never complains. I rolled into the driveway today with 78,601 miles on the car. I can't wait to see what happens next year.
