Just bought it and I love it - 50K miles! Seems in great shape with new engine block 13K miles ago = no more Nikasil!! But.... when its warmed up I notice a "clicking" sound from the dashboard as it begins moving from a stop ... around 20mph and gets increasingly faster as the speed increases. Not too loud...but enought to notice. Disappears as the car comes to a stop. Any suggestions??
The panel underneathe the wiper blades on the cowl is vibrating. I removed the little plugs that hold it down and glued mine down with silicone sealant(black). That was a couple of years ago and its still holding. The holddown plugs are a little tricky, the inner piece must be turned 90 degrees and lifted out with needle nose pliers so the whole thing can pop out and let you lift the plastic tray up enough to get the glue underneath it.
Thanks for the tip...I checked it out and see what you're talking about. The panels on mine seem like they could vibrate, but I would think that wouldn't be as regular a "click" beat as I'm hearing. So, I don't think this is causing the noise I'm referring to. I'll try your solution, anyway, as a last resort. It seems like the clicking is coming from the Speed or Tach - is this possible?
