overheating after thermostat replacement... (archive)

Hello,
Ill make this quick. I just replaced the thermostat on my 90 535 and thought i did everything correct but now the car is overheating. Any suggestions on what i could have screwed up.
Im thinking there may not be enough coolant in the system but I toped off the tank and it doesnt seem like it will take anymore, any suggestions?
