Hi Brian,

Grab the bottom edge of the seat cover on the back side and tug upwards. If memory serves, there are a total of four clips that slot into grooves in the seat frame.

Once you start tugging, look closely at the clips and it should become apparent how to proceed. You won't need much force at all so if it seems to hang up, try a different angle.

Sounds like the classic cable problem - check the archives for "twisted seat back" as it's the same illness.
