I just got a "top of the line" key from my dealer (emblem and LED light). Sold it to me for $33.00. Not everyone will have the same benefit as me and many of these guys are rude and unwilling to help. It's worth it to give them the benefit of the doubt. This is what I did. He turned out to be a really nice guy and very willing to help even with my E24 which only owners are familiar with. The point of this rant is get to know your dealer's parts supervisor by name and genuine parts may be yours for a discount, they usually tripple the cost of parts. Here's a few examples for my new 525i two new keyless entry remotes $90 for both; cargo net and hold down straps for trunk $27total; Floor mats $80-set of four; Key $33 and it helps to be a club member (this is what will start them on the discount value). If not call the guy a @(#$*$&%! and blame me for trying.
Give it a try
Happy Motoring,
Dart
