What is correct wheel lug bolt torque for 1990 535i with stock rims?

My 1990 owners manual says 81 Ft-Lbs (110 N-M). Bently manual says 70 Ft-Lbs (100 N-M).

I just broke a bolt with my torque wrench set to 81.

The bolt might have been bad. Also possible my wrench needs calibration.

Think I'll try 70 next time....
