94 540 Windshield Clips? (archive)

I recently had my windshield replaced and returned to an OEM piece of glass. It came with "clips" that stick out of the sides and produce a good deal of wind noise that did not exist before. It is posiible that it was installed incorrectly? Are the clips supposed to stick up from the surface of the weatherstrip? (approx. 2/3cm.) I am currently unable to take photos to make this assessment easier but would appreciate any input. Thank you in advance.
