In Reply to: Why not an area BMW dealer or an independent? posted by Jr on February 04, 2001 at 13:02:26:

I am unfamiliar with the N. Miami area and do not know of any local BMW shops. I posted a message a few days ago for suggestions, but did not get a response. Also, the man who is selling the car works 12 hour shifts and I am not sure he will take the car to the shop and wait on it or have some one take him and pick him up.

Hopefully I can work something out. I would love to pay a BMWCCA member or some knowledgable person from this board to take a look at the car, but that is a long shot.

Thank you for your comment and suggestion,
Catherine

Catherine,

You might try a local BMW shop in that area or an independent that specializes in BMW's. I have heard that this pre-purchase inspection can run up to $200, but is well worth the peace of mind that comes with a good once over.

It can also be used as a negotiated tool upon receipt of the inspection. So it just might pay for itself.

Nonetheless, have a qualified BMW mechanic look over your future investment. I wouldn't feel comfortable with an average inspection.

Good Luck, and tell everyone back home in Atlanta to send some warm weather up here!
