Adnan, The harness runs over the trunk hinge, though the padding at the back of the trunk to the distribution box under the back seat (at least in my 92 525). However, when my backup lights failed I traced it to a broken wire in the bundle right at the hinge - see my picture at:

PS. Anyone know where I can get a copy of the parts CD for e34?

Hi,

I'm trying to figure out why my backup lights don't work and had a question regarding the routing of the wires. The harness goes over the left trunk hinge and then ducks behind trim panels along the left quarter panel.

How do they go from there? Does the harness enter the distribution box under the seat? How does it get to the switch on the gearbox? Any suggestions most welcome.

Thanks,
Adnan
