if you arent going to be getting a coupe, I would definatly keep the 540. The m3's performance isnt nearly as good when it isnt in coupe form, and i personally dont think that it looks as good either as a convertable. If it were me, and I had a 540i with a 6 spd, you would be hard pressed to pry it out of my cold dead fingers. Now, I am sure this isnt for you, but if I had some extra cash (which I am really trying for), I would drop a mere 10k-12k on a nicxe 1989 porsche 944 turbo (951) which has 247 hp and a 0-60 time of around 6 seconds stock, and then upgrade the turbo.
But thats jsut me.
