From reading the 7 series boards (e32 and e38) where there is more use of the LAD rear, it seems like the usual death throes are leaks, rather than noises. Good luck either way!

If there can be a silver lining, it would give you a good excuse to remove the system and make the car ready for aftermarket springs and shocks.

Hello Lads (heh heh) and Lasses,

Those of you who've had a self-leveling system die, can you tell me how it happened? I'm getting a long, loud noise from the left-rear of the car shortly after startup, sounds like a dying electric motor. I assume that it's the accumulator... and that this system is about to die. Sound right?
