Same thing happened to me about 8 months ago...I had it towed to a BMW dealership where they said I had to replace the heads but they wouldnt do it because they couldnt provide a warranty..What was there solution? A new engine for almost 9,000 dollars..I took it to an imoprt mechanic who put a used 90 3.5l engine in for 2,000 dollars..Now my engine oil pressure warning comes on when i am on an incline....Wish I had known more about what really happened to my engine..
Temp gauge climbed to hot. Pulled over opened hood and watched upper hose expand and eventually blow up. Antifreeze now covers my car. Two questions. First has anyone had this happen to them and why? Second is it a pain to get to small part of hose that disapears under intake. Ps it was a fairly new hose!!!!! Any help would be appreciated. I will be diving out to my wounded baby tomorrow afternoon to rescue. Callen 91 535i 5spd.
