My mechanic in Atlanta (A very knowledgeable guy and an enthusiast) told me it could be done for around a couple G's [Yes, Rory, its Rich :)]. According to him, it was as easy (difficult) as rebuilding the Auto.

Ach- I am staring a second rebuild on the automatic transmission in my 1989 squarely in the face, and I'm thinking that maybe I could spend a little extra (Like Double, Probably) and change the auto out to a 5-speed, thus improving upon performance, fun and reliability. Is there anyone out there who has performed said conversion? Or is this just a ridiculous fantasy that I should forget about and get a rebuilt automatic from a reputable rebuilder?

Any advice would be appreciated. Sincerely.

Oh, the car has around 141,000 miles on it.

Thanks,

King
