I just ditched the set of SP4000's that came with my 540. Admittedly they were a bit past their prime, but I wasn't too impressed with the way they handled and they had some tramlining problems as well. I don't have any hands on experience with the SP5000 but have heard very good things about them. I'd go with the 5000s.

tires.com is having a special on the 4000's ($48).
I found a previous post about the SP4000 that seemed positive.

Why am I being such a penny pincher when I could buy the 5000s for $70? What with the control arm assembly replacement, torque converter and the bent wheels -- I really need to save as much as I can. I live in GA, so the weather is pretty mild. I am an enthusiastic driver but not all the time. What do you guys think? 4000 or 5000? TIA
