Therein lay the question - ;) If BMW got it right the first time with the stock headers, then that might explain the lack of such items on the market.

I know with alot of imports, you can purchase aftermarket headers and gain a bit of performance.

Do I really need them? Depends if I would gain any HP and if so, how much. :)

For my own good as far as rationalizing a purchase of a performance item I see a direct relationship between the amount of HP gained and money spent for such an item. The HP/cost constant is directly goverened by the amount of disposable income I posses at the time I decide I want the upgrade.

Do you really need them? The stock ones look pretty damn close, how much performance gain would headers give you?
