Help! Central locks not functioning. (archive)

My 89 535i central locks just quit working. I've checked for power at the motors and it appears to be getting power. It's almost as if every lock motor failed all at once. Does anyone know if one bad motor will bring the whole system down? If so, how do you tell which motor went bad?
