I just bought a black beauty 535i (1992) with 50,000miles. Body excellent; no shakes or rattles; no recorded engine fault-codes. Runs smooth, stops smooth, smells good!
E34s are the undisputed champs - many previous owners I know swear by them, having changed to newer models with lesser build qualities.
