I am looking at purchasing a 1990 535i, 120k miles, 5 speed. Green, Tan Interior. Exterior ranks 7.5/10, quite a few dings on the car, although the paint overall is in pretty good condition, just in need of some cleaning/waxing. Interior is in probably 7.5 out of 10 also. Typical scuff marks on base of seat and door, leather overall is in good conditional, although ocassionall scuffs, floor mats need replacing. Valve cover gasket is leaking, shimmy in the front end, speedomter not functioning, will need muffler within a year, OBC backlight non-functional, and there is some end play in the steering weel. If the car is stopped, you can turn the hweel probably 1-2 degrees in either direction and feel no resistence. Also, the stereo has been repalced wiht an aftermarket head unit, mid 90's JVC unit. In the past 60k it has gotten a new clutch, front and rear shocks/struts, and water pump. Doesnt seem like much maintenance, so I wonder if its all going to break when I drive it away. I know most of the forementioned itmes are prbably easy fixes, but even so, let me know what you think it is worth.
