I'd aim at about 8-9K for this car, probably not much more than that if any. That would also depend on a clean car fax, decent records and if you're not going to be the 7th owner. You don't mention if you did this but it's worth the $60 or so to have an independent BMW shop do a pre-purchase inspection for you, that way it will give you documented negotiating ammunition. I had this done on a 1988 M5 and they found and showed me, and the owner, where the car had been seriously rear-ended and fixed incorrectly. When the inspection was completed the estimate to put the car into the shape that it was being represented to me was 3-4K. Buyer beware! Shop around unless you can steal this car.
