i have a 1990 e34 and I have a slightly leaking heatercore that makes me have to top off about once a month my question is is it safe to use a type of bars leak to seal the slight leak and then flush the coolant system I have all the stuff to change the core but just do not have the time right now or the money to allow a shop to do something so easy but time consuming

I'm not sure what a "bar's leak" is but before i changed my heater core a couple of weeks ago i searched thru the archives for info and there were several messages that advised against using any kind of "stop leak" products. If u think it would be an easy job for u than u should not consider a shop because the labor charges are astronomical. My estimates were between 9 and 11 hours.
