Painting an E34 - Tips? (archive)

Could someone give me some "tips" on repainting the entire car. I am having the car repainted and trying to save some cash by "helping." The painter is a Show Car painter with numerous awards... But, never painted a BMW. Is this dangerous or is Paint just paint? - Thanks
