I am looking at cleansing myself by getting rid of my 735il and moving up to a 535i...
I have found two at very reasonable prices that interest me greatly. What problems should I look for in these cars before buying, and expect to happen during ownership? In the year that I have owned the 7 I have done all but replaced the body and hope to never do that with any other car again.

One thing I did notice, the door trim on both cars has "melted" loose, and is no longer sticking to the wood behind it, and the leather has shrunk so it can no longer be glued back... The fix for both cars has been the odd bead things to pin it down, but those are extremely ugly... Is there any solution that you all have come across to fix this?
Our 91 M5 does not have this problem, and we hope it does not, but as a preventive measure it would be nice to know how to repair this type of damage.

Thank you all very much and I hope to make the move from the E32 board to the E34 board soon.
