The heater control valve control heat to the left / right heater cores. Located on the left rear side of the engine compartment.
I've posted testing procedures in the past - search the archives.
I do agree with Chip if we're talking about the same thing - it sounds like a stuck control valve. Pretty simple replacement.

I've just noticed that the heat is always on in the passenger side compartment. I was running my AC and I was getting heat from the floor vents and the vent by the speaker. Also, the vent the blows air to the through the door was working correctly.
Please help.

sounds like a stuck mono valve.Mono valve shuts the coolant flow to either side of the heater core.In the RF of engine compartment on firewall near jump start location is the mono valve.It is an expensive piece(approx 150$)+the only way to test is with factory test harness.Try pinching off heater line from monovalve to core.
