means immobilizer, the engine will not start unless you put your correct code stick into a slot ('94 series) or put the correct key (with integrated code) into the ignition switch ('95 series). The code is checked by a separate module ('94 series) or by the ECU itself ('95 series). Thus for the '95 you need a special chip for your car, because the code, that will be compared with the key, is stored in it.

I haven't a clue what the acronym means. I have a '94 530iA with a Dinan chip. What's the relevance of a 95er vs a 94er or any other year E34 530? Give us a little more info about what you're fetting at, maybe you'll get some responses.

Hi there,

I can hardly believe it. Nobody out there with a 95er 530/540i with integrated EWS and a tuning chip, especially JCs? The ECU is #0 261 203 484, if this is a help for you to compare it with your car.
