The battery, under your rear seat on the passenger side, has a vent tube to release any gases that have to be let off. It probably came detached from the battery, allowing the stinky, sulpher-hydrogen smelling gases to enter the passenger compartment. Lift the back seat and look for the vent hose.
Any ideas on what this is? I don't notice it on the road, but when after driving for a while (and usually after racing the engine for a tiny bit on the road) I pull into the garage, it stinks like rotten eggs. I'm guessing this is some sort of exhaust, but I don't think it's normal. Any guesses on what this is? 94 525i
