Perhaps more explanation is due. Removed the key from the ignition of my 1995 525i then opened the driver's door. The alarm sounded (went ding-ding-ding........) and "KEY IN IGNITION" appeared in OBC readout. The display and alarm would't shut off and i tried to reinsert the key. After moving the key around for a minute or so, it finally worked and i was able to start the car. Is the ignition cylinder going bad or does this just happen some times? The car is a late model 95 and has the newer style key, its not one the locksmith can duplicate. Also the car has 96,000 miles on the odometer. Anyone had this problem?
