The only way I've found to fix this is to disassemble the CD player, turn the gears so the disc slides out at least part way, then replug and attempt manual eject (with button). This has happened to my '94 325is and I think it was caused by my disconnecting the battery before ejecting CD cassette but I am not sure. Best wishes!
