4.)The red light is the alarm light when activated. It shuts off after 36 hrs of inactivity (ie, car is stored,you go on vacation, etc).

5.)The black thing in the console is the glass breakage sensor for the alarm. You can adjust the sensitivity on the brain (location answered in previous post - under rear seat). Be careful to not set it too sensitive.

6.) The vent is activated by the OBC TIMER button. I think some cars didn't come with that feature. Mine (95 525i) does not have the actual stopwatch timer. Instead, when you press TIMER, the VENT is displayed. If the key is in pos 1 (I think), and you press S/R, the vent will come on. If you press TIMER again, it displays Time 1. Set the time using the 1000,100,10,1 buttons then press S/R. A red LED will light, indicating the vent will turn on 30 min [I believe] after the set time. You can also set Time 2 for later.
You must reset the timers (time remains set, just need to press S/R again to reactivate for day 2).
