There is a comb-like thing that holds each vent in place at the same angle. It becomes loose and may fall off. Hopefully you can still see yours (it can fall off and disappear inside your HVAC pipes). I used a coat hangar to fish mine to the right position and snap it back into place (it will lock onto tabs on the back of each vent slat). Good luck!
