Is a 4.10 really THAT bad in a manual 535i? (archive)

I'm running some calculations... looks like 80 MPH with a 4.1 instead of my 3.64 will be 3490 RPMs instead of 3097... 400 RPM isn't a very big difference! And 3500 isn't too high for cruising @ 80 MPH.

1st gear redlines at 33 mph... 4,000 sees 22 mph. These don't seem like terrible speeds to shift at... Anyhow, I may have the opportunity to try this setup out, at least for a little while... has anyone ACTUALLY DONE THIS before? The numbers don't look bad, and the acceleration looks like it should have a really nice boost. If I do it, you can all expect a full review, most likely including some sort of measurements, be they G-Tech or true drag strip numbers.
