Sounds like the actuator or central locking motor is gone.

About a £100 fix or so, at BMW.

'94 540i Touring Auto (UK).

i am over the moon with my new 92 518ise but one thing that is winding me up is that when i lock/open the doors via key the rear drivers side lock does not work up/down.
it is driving me nuts having to lock/unlock the door in by hand. help........
