what is that part the surrounds (left and right) the euro plate? it also seems to enclose the trunk button. the car on the right has it, the one on the left doesnt.


My 1993 525i has a panel like the the e34 on the right side of the picture that encloses the boot lid button and the surround of the number plate but it is made of the red tail light reflector material.

This was standard on all Australian 525/520's of that year through to the 1995 (not sure about the 8's). I have looked at other non-Australian e34's of the same period and they don't have this panel.

Was this panel unique to Oz?
