If you elect to do just the bushings, then you have done only half of the job. The new bushing will help in accelerating the wear on the old arm ball joint and it will fail quickly. Once you have removed the old arm, you will definately see that there is wear on these joints. Do yourself a favor and replace the whole control arm with the 750 bushing. You will be glad you did.

'89 535iA (with the new lemforder thrust arms)

I was on a long drive last weekend, and I could feel it for the first time... THE SHIMMY. Strange how it occurs just in that 80-100km/h range. BMW engineers must have overlooked something here.

Anyway, balljoints seem allright. Is it worth the time and effort only to do the bushings, or do I replace the complete thrust arms? In other words: How many of you have done the bushings, and suffered from worn balljoints shortly after?
