I used Meguirs #7 Glaze and some liquid glass for the wax. Did both the wifes 93 740il (cashimere) and my 94 540ia (alpine white). I just bought the buffer from walmart for $30. Seemed to work fine. I used the buffer to apply and removed each by hand. I then went over it with the buffer. Man it looks great. I was thinking of getting the 3M polish/glaze but could not find it in town. I had the liquid glass left over for a while so I might as well finish it off. the buffer saves alot of time and effort. It puts the polish/wax on very thin. You will not waste any at all.

I recently bought Griot's polisher (Porter-Cable) with the special bonnets, polishing goop, Best-of-Show wax, clay and Speed Shine.

The Speed Shine works fine, but I've been using the Meguir's equivalent for some time. I prefer the Meguirs a little more ... smells nicer, but both seem to work just as well.

BTW, their polishing "system" works great! My Oxford Green 525iT has a lot of swirl marks in the clear coat and the Griot's system is getting rid of them very nicely.
