airflow requirements of the engine, I can't see how you would gain anything. At cruise I believe the dme would change the pulse length like you said so there would be no gain there. The engine was designed for optimum air to fuel at wide open throttle anyway. Emissions aren't a factor then. So unless you have a cam ,exhaust or a lot of port work, big valves etc, I don't see how you would get a gain. If anything it would be too rich at wide open and the afm would have to be recalibrated. The other thing I was wondering about is you have an injector that flows more fuel but the same pressure behind it wouldn't the fuel atomization suffer also. Kind of like a water hose with no sprayer on the end versus a watering nozzle that sprays a fine pattern. So it seems you would have to put a adjustable regulator on as well to take full advantage of those higher flow injectors and crank the pressure up to get a nice mist instead of a dribble. I think Gale said it was 2.5% more flow so maybe its not enough to matter though.
I put the injectors in and am quite happy so far (about 70 miles of driving). See report below.

Regarding the mixture - I would *think* that the closed loop system of the O2 sensor/DME/Injector pulse/et all would compensate for the increase flow of the injectors.

My understanding is that the O2 sensor monitors the combustion byproducts and sends feedback to the DME advising the proper settings. As long as the DME has enough range to compensate for the increased pulse volume, I think we're OK. At WOT, the DME may override any feedback and allow the injectors to flow more fuel, leading to a slightly richer mixture and possibly more power...

Anyways, I would be surprised if there are emissions problems with the Ford injectors during normal driving operations.

Then again, I may be all washed up!

Anyone???

Cheers!

Jeff
