Actually you don't run 3.0 except at wide open throttle. The regulator backs it down to about 37psi at cruise and 43 when floored. what i was saying is that we have 3.0 wide open with an injector that flow less anyway. If you go to a bigger nozzle then what happens to the fuel atomization? Also maybe the ford ports and chamber s have more turbulence and swirl to better atomize the fuel. All the 90s mustangs I have worked on have anywhere from 35 to 45 psi also. It just seems like based on the flow of the injectors stock that the bmw would have a finer spray, equal or greater pressure out of a smaller nozzle. My understanding is that these Ford injectors run 2.5 bar in the Ford engine and that our engines are 3.0 bar.
I agree Bill it should all be a 'wash' with the DME compenstating. Still, my car definately runs better above 3k RPMS....curious. Maybe my previous older injectors were slight blocked/gummed leading to a restricted fuel flow?
Cheers!
Jeff
