The V1 is great! Mine paid for itself on my first long road trip after I got it. The directional indicators and the bogey counter are very useful. At $400, it's pricey, but now that I've used mine for over a year, I don't regret spending the money one bit. If something happened to mine, I wouldn't even bother to look at other units. I'd buy another V1 in a heartbeat. Also, the V1 is upgradeable. When new units are introduced, you can send it back to Valentine for updating to the latest version. It's not free, but I imagine it's cheaper than buying a new detector every few years. As far as I'm concerned, the V1 is the only way to go.
