I am constantly using my stomp down switch in my 95 525i which usually gets the rev right to the red line just for passing cars. I typically see this everyday. Most people do use the stomp pedal when passing, and merging into highways. You're quite a bit off that automatics never see this, as it is quite common, and im by no means a lead foot.
