rpm as the stock chip. Thats just under a 10% gain. On an automatic thats very noticable. Good bang for the buck on the early 525...

First, if you are looking for acceleration, you want torque; not horsepower.

Second, IF you have an automatic, you're not going to see *much* gains. Reason is that all of these chips show the real power gains at high RPM (6000rpm) and smaller gains (2-5hp) in the lower ranges (2500rpm). The lower rpm is where an automatic keeps the revs at. In other words, with an automatic, your engine won't normally be in the neigbbor hood of the higher horsepower.

Easiest way to verify this is to watch the tach and see where the shifts are occuring. Then check the chip specs and see what kind of power increase is available at that rpm.

If you want the chip for better idle, ok, but that's an expensive way to improve the idle.

If you want the chip because it raises the rev limiter, ok, but same argument applies with an automatic, you normally won't see the rev limit anyway.

IIRC most chips will also require you to use premium gas (not sure it your 525 already requires that). If you don't already need it, it's an extra ongoing cost with little benefit.

Just some thoughts,
