The +4s are good for M50 and M60 engines. M20s and M30s tend to foul them very quickly.

I need to replace the plugs on my 530i (M60 V8 engine) and am looking for a spark plug recommendation. The archives are quite full of information on this, none of it conclusive. The summary seems to be:

- NGK - Avoid these
- Stock Bosch plugs - Status quo
- Bosch Platinum+4 - love 'em or hate 'em

I'm intrigued by the performance claims (smoother idle, better acceleration) of the Platinum+4 and by a few of the testimonials on the web, but I wanted to see if anyone has any long-term results after putting 20K+ miles on these plugs. They're only a buck each more than the stock plugs, so if they offer a modest improvement and no harmful effects, I'd be inclined to choose the Platinum+4's.

Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer.
