FYI, if you're planning on adding the glovebox shock to a car that has two straps, you're in for some trouble. If you look at the top of the longer strap, it mounts to the car in a different way than the shock does. The shock is supposed to slip over a post, and the shock has an integrated clip to secure it. On cars with straps, there is no post. Adding the post requires a whole new metal bracket, and it's probably more trouble that it's worth. IIRC my shop quoted $50 or so for the part. When I bought my car, it had a shock which was attached at the top with a twistie tie thing, and rattled around like hell. I tried putting a bolt through to secure it in the top hole, but it would still rattle. I finally gave up and went back to a strap.
