I agree with Bill R. I commute 40 miles roundtrip daily traveling around 80 MPH the entire way. I run it up to the redline once or twice a week but most of my driving is cruising around 3700 RPM's. I drink about 1 quart of Mobil 1 15W-50 for every 2500-3000 miles. The PO ran dino juice for the first 58K miles and I immediatly switched to Mobil 1 so I am not sure about the difference in consumption. My oil pan is slightly seeping and I notice consumption increases when I spend a lot of time up near the redline. Not too worried with the current rate of consumption.

I have notice with synthetics that steady higher speed driving such as 70 an above tends to greatly increase consumption on mine. Also I have noticed that contrary to manufacturers claims I consume a little more with synthetics. Small price to pay as far as I am concerned. I wouldn't worry about it. You need to determine exactly how many miles per quart you are getting. Carefully fill it up to the mark and check oil frequently and find out how much you're really using.

I figured it would be okay to run Mobil 1 on the car since it doesn't have that many miles on it. What gasket and seals should I look at for possible seepage? The oil pan gasket is brand new, and I don't see any drips.
