The theory for thinner electrode is so that it has easier/less resistance to produce a spark... that is good but it produce a less powerful spark than regular plugs... meaning reduced engine power because of less powerful ignition of air/fuel mixture.

This is somewhat good if you have stock ignition system with only one coil because it is less load on the coil so that all cylinder produce equal stength and thus smoother engine, yet slightly less power.

If you have individual coil for each plugs, then you are defeating the purpose of this setup.

The more powerful the spark produces, the more power there is to the engine so by upgrading your ignition system to high performance igntion system from Jacobs Electronic and others, you are improving the performance and horsepower.
