My wife and I are looking at a 1995 540i. It's going to be my wife's car, and she has never owned a rear wheel drive car before. My concern is her driving it in the snow. I tried to teach her car control in the snow in my car last winter, but she was too scared to try. The 540i we looked at does have traction control...but how effective is it in the snow? Does anyone have any experience driving one in the snow? Thanks for any feedback!

I had a 525 wagon for a year and it was great in the snow (before it I had a Cherokee Limited). It's all about the tires, I had 4 Blizzaks and it was a struggle to make it slide around (my 92 had no traction control). It's a big heavy car and the ABS is great. Enjoy it in the snow, the heated mirrors make the visibility great. I gave the car to my Mom, she is in her 60's and loves it in the winter, always having front wheel drive before she was wary, she prefer's the 525, says she feels safer and more comfortable. (The heated seats help!)
