The M50 engine is highly reliable and has double overhead cams, 4 valves per cylinder, hydraulic lifters, direct spark ignition and timing chains. Features that give you lower maintenance, good performance and good mileage.
Weak areas: automatic transmissions, water pumps, fan clutches, plastic radiator parts that break. Water pumps don't cost much and last 60,000-70,000 miles - change them out at that mileage whether needed or not.
Where is the car located? Why such a good price? Be sure to check Carfax for salvage title, flood damage, etc.
