Welcome to the club. Post pics of your badged-end when you get a chance!
94 Dinan 530iA
Well, I just got my car back from the mechanic. I had a Dinan Stage III suspension installed on my 530iA. While the wheels were off, he found the source of my shimmies; the front right brake rotor was moshed (or the bearings were, anyway). There was about 1-2mm of play in the rotor when I tried moving it. He also noticed that my front pads were worn down pretty badly. Getting the rotors and pads all replaced was a non-trivial amount of money. Anyway, because of that, he had to keep it overnight. I picked it up at noon today.
Man, what a difference. I got the Bilstein set from Dinan. The ride felt more "sporty" but not harsh. I feel like I can take turns with much more confidence now. The understeer that made me cringe is, for all purposes, gone. I feel the force of the turn, but the car just stays level and takes it in stride. It was a big chunk of change, but I think it's worth it.
On top of that...
Dinan chips + Dinan exhaust + Dinan suspension = Dinan car. I have 10 points now, so I can get my little vanity badge and put it on the wall next to my model badge. Whee!
