I had the same problem, a noise from the drivers side rear speaker area. With my understanding girlfriend driving me over bumps I tracked it down to the top rim of the speaker rubbing against the C pillar piece of trim. With an electric grinding tool a simple shaved the bit of the speaker that was causing the problem and hey presto. Also there was no need to remove anything except the speaker grille. Best of luck.

Can anyone give me instructions on how to remove the rear deck shelf. I have a noise/rattle that seems to be coming from the rear drivers side where the speaker is and I want to remove the Rear Deck Shelf to get rid of the problem once and for all. I hear the noise every time I go ever a bump or big crack in the road. It is driving me nuts. Any advice or directions would be greatly appreciated.
