a burn off cycle that heats the wire up to clean it. Spraying contact cleaner on it will only make it worse. Assuming you have a hotwire mas and not a maf

Use a good electrical contact cleaner with corrosion inhibitors and sealers. Don't use ZEP ELEC II. They say it won't harm plastics, however it ate up all of my automotive connectors I used it on.

The best contact cleaner I've seen on the market is called DEOXIT Dn5, Dp5, or D5 made by Caig Industries. This product cleans, deoxidizes, and protects contacts by leaving a thin film over exposed contacts. When surface to surface contact is made, the film is broken and forms a seal around the two contacts.

I've restored telephone connections, wet distributor caps and TV Cable lead-ins while these bare circuits were being pounded by heavy rain all by simply spraying this onto the wet contacts and surfaces and closing them up. It's great for water displacement.

I use it on all my sparkplug, fuse, connector and bulb connections.
