Nakamichi for head unit and coaxials for rear deck and for dashboard. Woofers for kick doors.
Rally's are pretty good- how about the Discus line/ mid
priced coaxials from Quart, MB. Cerwin Vega or even Alpines speakers have been made by Dynaudio in the best.

I recommend a good silk dome tweeters and to use the sail panel
2" OE speakers be replaced and to have them act as a super tweeter- 3K and up.

Recently blew another speaker, that's two down. Mid-range in the dash, can't find replacements. Also, head-unit shorts out occassionally and can't seem to find where the short is coming from. So, I am looking at starting over car stereo wise. I've read a few things in the archives and on the e34.net site. I don't need a $5000+ competition system, I would be happy with just something better than stock that fits without cutting anything up or taking up the entire trunk space.

I am currently considering going with an Alpine CD7875 head unit (4x60watt) directly to Boston Acoustic Rally speakers (5.25" woofers in front kick panels, tweets in door posts, and 4.00" woofs and tweets in rear deck). These items are in my price range.

Also, would it be possible/beneficial to run the factory disc changer through the new head unit?

Any comments/suggestions/comparable equipment/etc. from some car audio gurus are welcome.
